last antenatal class
Apr 8th, 2008 by islandhippy
Tonight was our last antenatal class. Despite trashing the classes in the beginning due to the dodgy McDonald's connection, we did become quite fond of them towards the end. We finally exchanged numbers with a fun Finnish–Singaporean couple, who live close by in Holland Village, and we eventually found some healthy food deep in the bowels of the hospital. Tucked away in a far corner is a Chinese vegetarian stall and hidden amongst all the soy mock meat are some real green vegetables! And because we’re always the last customers — our classes finish at 8.30pm — the stallholder shovels a mountain of veggies and fake pig onto our plates.
During the class break we were chatting to the teacher, a physio, and discovered that she was also induced (we’ve been told Sandy will be induced). The reason the physio was induced? Her obstetrician was going on holiday! Now we know why our doctor is inducing Sandy early. The whole “your baby is a giant and needs to be sucked out” spiel is a ruse! Send us a postcard from Bali, Doc!
