wild life

Olive and Sandy rescue a striped kukri snake from the middle of the road outside the house. The snake is so called as it has teeth the shape of kukri blades, the famous weapon of choice of the Nepalese Gurkhas. It feeds on eggs, lizards and other snakes so we reckoned we were safe.
For a three-and-a-half-month-old baby, Olive is extremely bossy. Here she is reclining in her chair directing operations in the livingroom: "Mummy-slave, fetch my book". Her three-inch-long mohawk is all part of the act—intended to intimidate the weak.
