Don't worry about not being a 'real' member of the family, the more people who show up for dinner the better. I've done twelve reunion dinners now, as friend, boyfriend, fiancé and finally husband. I find alcohol works well. I'm looking forward to my daughter growing up so we can teach her all the customs associated with Chinese New Year. Well done, you survived your first reunion dinner!
