London: snowflake city

[click to enlarge photo] Look at the wonder in Oscar's eyes! "Why is this white stuff falling out of the sky?"
We're snow jealous! We had hoped for a white Christmas back in the UK but the snow arrived a month too late. We can only sit back in sweaty, equatorial Singapore and dream of fat, white snowflakes falling from the sky and carpeting the ground. My sister Holly emailed over a few photos from London of Oscar experiencing snow for the first time. What fun! I have fond memories of playing in the snow as a child/teenager/student ... the games turned more violent the older we got but snow has this magical way of bringing out the child in everybody. Tobogganing in the grounds of Wollaton Hall, making angel-shapes on the tennis court, having snowball fights at school (and university!). Drinking soup from a mug makes sense in winter; even donning longjohns, mittens and a bobblehat doesn't seem so ridiculous.
Enjoy the snow, Oscar!

All my colleagues in London stayed home yesterday, they canceled all buses and later the metros as well… what a pity, think its time to head over to SnowCity soon
