Febrile convulsions … pt II

[Olive recuperating in Holly's back garden in London]
It's been 48 hours since Olive was discharged from hospital in Nottingham and we're still having trouble getting her to eat and drink. We're now in London and we're supposed to fly to France tomorrow to spend a week in a tiny four-house hamlet halfway up a mountain in the Aveyron Gorge. As late as 2am this morning we were convinced we'd have to cancel the trip and spend the holiday in Great Ormond Street Hospital in London! At 1am this morning Olive vomited in her sleep, the sick covering her face. We cleaned her up and put her down again – we're now staying at my sister's house in London – but she vomited again after 20 mins. By this stage Olive was looking almost as bad as in the hospital in Nottingham. She was completely listless and didn't react to any stimulus from us. We were on the verge of calling an ambulance but in the end decided to let her sleep and review her condition in the morning. We got a little more liquid in her before she drifted off. I didn't really sleep much, every half an hour I got up to see if she was OK. Finally, come 6.30am, up stood Olive with another cheeky grin and she waved at us in bed! Sleep seemed to be what she needed. We gave her some milk and breakfast then took her back to bed with us and we all slept until about 9am. She's done really well today, apart from a final, and quite spectacular, vomit. The problem is knowing how much, or how little, to feed her. Anyway, we hope to be in France tomorrow … sans laptop.

hey guys… hang in there… am sharing whatever info i got from the docs in Singapore.. Jenine’s diagnosed with some viral infection/fever as well after rounds of blood test and fluid test.
If Olive is still vomitting, don’t force her to take milk (based on what the PD says)…just ensure they take loads of fluids, barley drink, juices, honey water etc… otherwise what goes in might come out (happened to Jenine, she threw up the milk we gave her in the mornings too)…and if Olive’s willing to take soupy stuff, that’ll be great as well, some soup & porridge will be good…
Oh dear! Lots of love from Auntie Agnes, Olive! I wish you a speedy recovery.
Sandy, Phil, hang in there! I hope you guys are coping well.
