I see goats

"I see goats" was Olive's reply when I asked her why she woke up early this morning. Goats? Singapore only has eleven goats. Maybe I misheard her? "I see ghosts" she enunciated. Ah yes, we have plenty of those, we live behind Alexandra Hospital and everybody knows that place is haunted. I told her to hug her soft toys next time and let Mummy and Daddy sleep. Every day Olive's coming out with a new word or expression that amazes us.
- Olive was having rather a tough time at a friend's house the other day so she whispered in Sandy's ear: "Olive wants go home please." Incredible!
- Olive teased me "Daddy has wrinkly elbows" then fell about laughing and followed up with "Olive is a cheeky monkey"!
- Olive picked up a Chinese-language kid's book and said "Only Mummy reads Chinese". Wow! (OK, she forgot about the billion people in China but in our house only Mummy reads Chinese.)
I'm flying up to Thailand on business this morning and I'm going to miss Olive's banter. Her vocabulary is increasing every day and we can now enjoy real conversations. When I call her from the office she tells me what she had for lunch, who she visited and what games she played with Mummy.
Foot massage at the airport ... nothing else to do, mah!
