You're right, it wasn't rotavirus. Olive's only just started putting objects in her mouth -- nursery rhyme books, soft toys, bank books, etc -- so this was no doubt the cause. Bank books just aren't as safe to eat as they used to be. So, nothing serious we hope. Olive has had one of two rotavirus jabs so we're probably worrying unnecessarily. But we're good at that.

Glad that Olive has perked up, rotavirus is pretty serious and she would have most likely been sicker than just the runs. (there is a jab for it though that you can get for her below 6 months if you are really worried). Could just be the onset of teething, although most dr.s don't believe in the connection between teething and diarrhea. But i always found Thalia to have this when teeth were starting to break thru!... well my two cents worth! Hope you are all on the mend! Hugs xx

Today's ST is advertising the following mooncakes at hotels and restaurants around Singapore:
• Strawberry & dark chocolate mooncake (Fairmont Singapore)
• White lotus seed paste with Champagne truffle mooncake (Sheraton Towers Singapore)
• Ebony and ivory whisky chocolate praline mooncake (Singapore Marriott Hotel)
• Kuih belandah (love letters) stuffed mooncake (Tung Lok) -- "surely this is taking fusion too far?!"
• Rosebud with custard mooncake (Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore)
• Bloody mary mooncake (The St Regis Singapore) -- "yes, I have to try this!"
• Chocolate truffle with red wine mooncake (The Regent Singapore)

"Why do they want to come up with all this crap?" asks Sandy. "Traditional is the best."

Hi Kiki
We do seem to be in Dempsey and the gardens a lot these days -- although not at the crack of sparrow's fart -- so we must meet up. Do let us know if you both fancy a beer (and mash) at RedDot and don't mind a screaming baby in tow. And we'd love to meet baby George in Oct.
We didn't shave Olive's head much to the horror of my mother and all the Singaporean aunties who stop us in the street to share their advice!
love Sandy

I think you must be spending more time in our neck of the woods than we are!
We like the beer at Red Dot alot too. We are usually in the gardens at crack of sparrow's fart to quote our older daughter or occasionally at an evening concert if I am not on call. They have a real knack of having such events when I am.
Off to the Garden exhibition at Suntec tomorrow afternoon/evening which I always enjoy.
Abi will be here in October with her baby George born just a week after Olive. I might give you a ring then to see if we can meet up for a roaring contest.
Great to see all the photos. So did you shave Olive's head or not? I suspect the mohawk is just a natural look.
Love KIKI
